Review: QuizUp

The Start

If you're like me, you're prone to getting bored, really, REALLY easily. And also, if you're a bit like me, you tend to get into the swing of quizzes quite easily. Things like The Chase and Pointless that have you screaming at your TV in an effort of some poor girl who's playing for 50p to hear your answer to "Who played Batman in The Dark Knight Rises". I find it easy to dip in and out of quiz games, so I was incredibly surprised when I found QuizUp On the Play Store. What surprised me even more is how addictive this game is.

The Game

The game is simply laid out, easy to play and set into questions so easy anyone can answer them.
The quizzes are laid out in various different topics. I've only taken one screen shot as an example, but the game includes different quizzes to play, either on your own or with friends. These can be anything, from "Guess the next lyric", to (personal favourite), a quiz about Futurama. You've also got Minecraft, Disney, Oscar Wilde books, you name it, there is a quiz about it! The quiz app collects your score every time you play, collects the score and gives you achievements based on your skill within the game. You can also challenge any friends that have the game, but within the game itself, it matchmakes across the world. matches you against random people of varying skill, so looks can be incredibly deceiving when it comes to thinking things will be a cake walk, only to find you get absolutely hammered with the questions given to you.

 The Conclusion

To be honest, I don't need to do a 10 page review about this game. As you can see from the screenshots above, it's easy to answer questions, it's easy to be matched up with people both bad and good in the games. As the one in the middle suggests, you can get matched up with people in California who are the best in class. Probably lucky that we drew 1-1 in games, had to go easy on him in the end I suppose...
