Review: Sonic & All Stars Racing Transformed

Now I've been around the block a few times and played my fair share of racing games such as Mario Kart and Diddy Kong Racing. So I knew SEGA would jump on the Kart racing bandwagon, This is not the first time they have done it either... This time however is really fun and I can't put it down!

Now before I start I wanna say I am reviewing the PC version of this game, its the only version I have, Now on to the game!

Right from the start the game looks and sounds great! The music, the graphics! everything in the game looks and feels right. The only flaws I could find in the graphics is this very small render error that would cause the levels to flash black for a few seconds, Though rare it can happen. So all in all the graphics are solid and will run at a perfect 60+FPS

The gameplay is also phenomenal! You can play with a keyboard but the real action is with a controller, I use just a basic wired Xbox 360 controller it works great cause the game is already setup to use a 360 controller. You can race in many events besides racing, like in "showdown" you race one on one to see who can stay in first the longest. The game also has some of the tightest and most responsive controls I have ever seen in this type of game, Did you run into a wall? Don't blame the controls, its your own damn fault that you did it! So what is my verdict on the gameplay? its great! it will give you hours of fun and you will have no trouble learning how to play the game with its tight controls and solid mechanics.

The main reason I am reviewing the PC version is because it comes with some extra racers from other games , for example are you sick as playing as sonic or tails? ever wanted to get in the race as The Heavy from Team Fortress 2? No? well to bad because you can! There are in total 5 guest characters in this game (8 if you count the TF2 ones but I will explain that in a second) All the guest racers have there own stats such as speed, boost, etc. The racers consist of: Wreck it Ralph, Danica Patrick (why!?), Shogun, Football Manager, and 3 classes from TF2 they are The Pyro, The Spy, and The Heavy, The thing with these guys is that the TF2 classes are all bunched into one car so when you transform you are a different class.

So you might be thinking "ok, ok the game looks pretty fun. Where can I get it?" Well I have good news for you! It is on PS3, Xbox 360, and PC! no matter what platform you play it on you are gonna have a great time! if you want to get it on PC you will need steam, Here is a link to the game here. For the console versions you can get them at your local gamestop or whatever game store you guys have.

So would I recommend you this 30 Dollar game (£19.00)? Yes, Yes I would! The game is great and will give you hours of fun! it even has an online mode so you can race your friends from all over the world, or if you're like me and have no friends you can play with bots! Have Fun!
