Review: Ministry Of Sound; Electronic 80's 2

Well, it's 80's, and I like the 80's. I like electronic music, so in the Venn diagram it should be the perfect mix of what I like. Unfortunately, it's not. O.k, admittedly, I like Kraftwerk, Frankie Goes To Hollywood, Ultravox, Devo and Duran Duran, but all of the other songs and artists on the discs are just tacky and don't deserve a lot of attention.

Those who also like the 80's, bear with me, those who don't, allow me to explain why electronic music in the 80's was such a big thing. In essence, electronic music developed from disco. It still holds many of the main features of disco, but disco died in 1979. Electronic is still going on today, but more in the form of drum and bass, which gave us dubstep and other things like that. Many influential artists inspired many of today's club scenes, like Gary Numan (famous mainly for his song Cars) inspired many different people in this age, with the same sound coming from artists like Pendulum. To be honest though, if I wanted to listen to many different bands trying to hard and trying to remix, I'd listen to the Clubland Mix Albums. Or Beatbullyz.

Some songs are good on this album though. Like I mentioned, Devo, with their song Jerkin' Back 'N' Forth, Hungry Like The Wolf by Duran Duran, and Dancing With Tears In My Eyes by Ultravox. But the other songs on the album don't captivate the audience, they don't hold you. Unlike the other Ministry Of Sound Albums, it has not been mixed by guest DJ's (e.g. The Wideboys on Addicted To Bass 2010). It sound's like it has been put together by someone in a hurry to get out of work at quarter to 5 on a Friday afternoon. Take my advice, by Electronic 80's 1. You'll enjoy it more.

Fluidity - 2/5
Songs On Album - 3/5 (a few respectable ones)
Hooks (If Any) - 1/5
Mixes - 2/5
Like (on scale of 1-5) - 2-5

Overall Album Score - 10/25
Follow On From First: 2/5 (some songs are the same from the first one)
