I've done the 80's, so now I think it's high time for the 90's to have it's moment to shine. There were good and bad times in the 90's, such as Princess Diana's death in 1997, The Gulf War in 1990-91, and, in not such a morbid note, movie's from the 90's, such as Schiendlers List (a true story of a Nazi factory owner who saved countless lives whilst risking his) and Reservoir Dogs (remember the scene with the ear, possibly Quentin Tarantino's best film ever). Oh and Saving Private Ryan. As well as Titanic.

And Jurassic Park.

The music in the 90's was so up and down it was hard to keep up. On the one hand (the bad hand), The Spice Girls, Steps, S Club 7 and Boyzone. On the other hand, Nirvana, Oasis, Metallica (Enter Sandman), Foo Fighters and The Smashing Pumpkins. To be honest, you decide which hand is better. One hand has soppy pop group and boy-bands, the others has music like Rage Against The Machine, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Alice In Chains, Faith No More, Oasis and Radiohead.

There are many things the captivate the late 90's. Like Bill Clinton, the USA being world police in many countries of the world, and Kraftwerk. But many of these all add up in little segments, to make it into one of the biggest decades ever. A decade where fear and music were the top 2 things to keep people going. Still, it's got nothing on the 80's.
