Review: Florence And The Machine; Lungs

Again, another review. This one is about Florence And The Machine's debut album, Lungs. And may I say, she has a great set of lungs on her. She has a great voice, which only amplifies the amazing and driving lyrics of songs such as Kiss With A Fist, Girl With One Eye and You've Got The Love. Anyway, before I lose track of what I'm meant to be doing, this album is possibly one of the best I've heard this year.

The songs on this album are brilliant, Rabbit Heart (Raise It Up) is one of the songs of my summer and winter. It is a song which you can't help singing to. Her voice magnifies the song, making it even better than it would be without her. Possibly a modern classic, and possibly the soundtrack to some peoples summer. Other songs, like the so popular You've Got The Love only increases how great this album truly is.

People will probably be telling me to get onto the bad points. And the only thing that I have managed to find in all of the 13 songs on this album is that she shouts a bit. But, honestly, does that really matter? Is it a deterrent? Or does it add to the appeal? That's for you to decide. Oh, the only other thing I've found it that is has set a benchmark which will be extremely hard for her to top. I'll be surprised if she doesn't manage it, but it is a feat which will be extremely hard to do. Good luck though.

Overall, an amazing album, and one of the defining soundtracks of 2010. Brilliant.

Album Rating: 9/10 (knocked a point off because of the benchmark set)
