Routers and Troubleshooting; Or Should That be Making?

Today, I decided to update the router and update drivers. I used windows update (as suggested) and lo and behold, the router stopped working! Being thoroughly ticked off at this, I decided to use troubleshooting, and I bet you can hazard a guess at what happened... it failed to give me the single piece of correct information to help me remedy this problem.

I know that once again, I'm blabbering on and moaning, but why do they make troubleshooting options into trouble making annoyances? Microsoft pride themselves on the forums, FAQs, knowledge bases and tech support, having studied them all at college, so why do they claim they get high scores from the likes of Which? magazine. It begs a lot to be admired.

Obviously I have fixed the solution (thank you Device Management), but it has taken this long that I have had to change my plans for the day. So please, windows, I beg you, MAKE EVERYTHING EASIER TO USE!
